JTT Team Challenge – Paducah Tennis Association
SPRING SESSION – APRIL 13 – MAY 19 – MONDAY NIGHTS 6:30-8PM, LONE OAK TENNIS COURTS
Team Challenge is a fun, low-pressure introduction to match play for beginner players ages 8-14. Designed to help young athletes build confidence on the court, this program prepares them for Junior Team Tennis (JTT) and competitive match play in a supportive, team-based environment.
Players are grouped into teams and compete in short, modified matches that focus on skill development, sportsmanship, and teamwork. No prior match experience is needed, making it the perfect next step for those new to competition. Experienced coaches guide players through matches, helping them learn scoring, rules, and strategies in a relaxed, encouraging setting.

What age should players start JTT?
Players ages 9-18 are invited to participate in Paducah Tennis Association’s JTT program.
Do you have to be a really good player for JTT?
Players who can serve consistently, rally at least five hits, and can keep score accurately are invited to play in JTT. Those not quite there yet are invited to participate in JTT Team Challenge. Whether you’re a new player just learning the game, or a seasoned player hoping to get a college scholarship, JTT has a place for you.
How much does JTT cost?
The spring season is only availble for Team Challenge and runs April-May. The cost is $100.
PTA charges $100 for the Team Challenge and JTT summer season which runs from June-July. Included in the season is a weekly match and weekly practice overseen by each team’s captain (JTT only).
Our fall season is for Team Challenge and JTT and runs from after Labor Day through October (no games over fall break) and is $75.
Players of ALL LEVELS are highly encouraged to also participate in PTA’s weekly clinics on the weekend (additional cost), but it is not required to participate in JTT.
Can players do JTT and school tennis?
Absolutely! In fact, our 18 and under teams don’t even begin playing until after the Kentucky high school season is over. JTT is a great way to continue playing after school is over for the year.
How does JTT affect UTR and WTN rank?
All JTT matches are entered into USTA which formulates and updates WTN rankings. UTR pulls from USTA matches to update their rankings.
Does Paducah JTT compete beyond local teams?
All of our JTT divisions have the opportunity to go to the state tournament in August. When creating teams, we will take into account which players want to go to state and which players do not. Also, our teams will have opportunities to play other JTT teams across the state during the season.
